Southwest Region Community Paramedic Program

Community Paramedicine is an evolution in community-based health care that addresses the decrease in access to primary care services in urban and rural areas. Paramedics have the training and expertise to provide care services such as assessments, wound care, diagnostic cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and have proven the ability to take health care into the home.

Southwestern District Health Unit (SWDHU) has taken on the role of the coordinating entity for the Southwest Region Community Paramedic Program. Marlys Walter, RN, SWDHU Community Paramedic Coordinator will direct referrals to the paramedics.

To submit a referral, download the referral form here and fax completed form to (701)483-3762, attention Marlys.

If you have additional questions, please email Marlys Walter at Mawalter@nd.gov or contact Ms. Walter at (701)483-3760.
